John has also set up a competition for local youngsters to make the best "whale-tail" pose in the constituency, and has written to local schools to encourage participation. As well as being in with a chance of winning a prize, their photos can be uploaded to the Tails for Whales website to show that they care about animal welfare.
"This is an easy and fun way for everybody to show that they care about animal cruelty. Whaling is wrong and totally unnecessary, and I encourage all local residents to upload their "whale tail" photos to the website, so that we can put pressure on those countries who continue this practice."
