Paul is the Deputy Leader of Manchester's Opposition Group of 33 Liberal Democrat Councillors.
He also serves as Chairman of Greater Manchester's Fire & Rescue Authority, and is the Liberal Democrats' national spokesperson on Fire service issues. He was born and raised in Armagh, Northern Ireland, and has lived in Manchester for 17 years, apart from a short spell working in a school in France. In his 11th year on the Council, Paul is 36 and proud to represent Rusholme. He worked in finance at Manchester University, and is a keen organist and former choirmaster. Paul is a Governor at Birchfields and Heald Place Primary schools locally, and also serves as a Board member for Mosscare Housing Association. Paul is interested in local history, and environmental issues in Manchester. His ambition is to replace Manchester's underperforming Labour Council with a Liberal Democrat administration, delivering better public services for local people.
