john leech didsbury bloomJohn Leech MP and the local Liberal Democrat Didsbury Councillors have played their part in backing Didsbury's In Bloom bid to go all the way for gold.

Yesterday John Leech and the local councillors met with judges from the Royal Horticultural Society yesterday and accompanied them on a three hour "tour of Didsbury" to assess Didsbury for the award.

Didsbury in Bloom has captivated the imagination of Didsbury residents and businesses alike who have all rallied together to get behind their in bloom bid.

John Leech MP said, "Everyone involved in "bloom" has done a fantastic job and if we win the award it will be a great testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of a lot of local volunteers and Council officers. Anyone about in Didsbury today will have been impressed how good the town centre looks."

Local Didsbury Councillor Lianne Williams commented, "I am really proud of all the effort everyone has put in and myself and my colleagues are fully behind the bid for gold

I think the judges were impressed with the community spirit behind the bid and they commented how delighted they were to see us the local councillors and MP fully backing the bid".
