Pupils at the school each designed a sheet of paper with a football theme and joined them together to create the giant scarf. Pupils also signed the scarf along with 1500 other people.

Action Aid's "1 Goal" campaign is a reminder for politicians across the world who pledged to help primary education across the world. Currently over 70 million children don't get a primary education and half of these live in Africa.

He will now take the scarf petition to London to give to the Prime Minister, as part of a national petition on education.

John said, "It is great to see both pupils and parents get involved with the campaign - it's good to see so many Manchester City inspired designs. A 120 metre scarf is impractical on the terraces, so it's a good job I'm taking it down to Number 10!"
