Climate change campaigners from Manchester Liberal Democrats attended the "Wave" Climate Change march in London
Climate change campaigners from Manchester Liberal Democrats attended the huge "Wave" Climate Change march in London. Local Lib Dems Victor Chamberlain (Chorlton), Dave Page (Fallowfield) and Cllr John Bridges (Gorton South) headed down to London to take part in 'The Wave' demonstration.
'The Wave' was aimed at demonstrating to world leaders ahead of the Copenhagen Summit how important action against climate change is. The Liberal Democrats demanded at The Wave that the Government takes real action whilst at the same time, showing that the Lib Dems are the only party with the ambition and policies to reverse climate change.
Chorlton Lib Dem campaigner, Victor Chamberlain, met up with Nick Clegg MP, the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, to discuss Manchester's City Council's poor record on climate change.
Victor said:
Chorlton Lib Dem Campaigner Victor Chamberlain Discussed Manchester's Climate Change Record with Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg MP
"Local Councils must also take action on climate change in conjunction with the Government. Manchester City Council's environmental record is very poor, in particular the failure to spend money earmarked to tackle climate change and the exclusion of the airport from the city's Co2 emissions. We all need to do more to tackle Climate Change".
