There is more chance of the Lib Dems gaining a second seat in Manchester than there is Labour gaining Withington, according to Bookies Ladbrokes.
Lib Dem PPC Qassim Afzal is 6/4 to gain Manchester Gorton from Labour, whilst Labour's Lucy Powell is 13/8 to win Withington. Incumbent MP Sir Gerald Kaufman is at 2/1 on, whilst Withington Liberal Democrat John Leech is 9/4 on. The Tories are well out of it at 100/1 for both seats
Cllr Simon Ashley said,
"The bookies are catching up to two things campaigners in Gorton and withington have known for ages. First, the election is between the Lib Dems and Labour. Second, we have a better chance of toppling Sir Gerald Kaufman than they have of toppling John Leech."
