Lianne Williams, John Leech MP and Local Residents Oppose new Marie Louise Lodge Planning Application

Local Lib Dems are opposing new revised plans to extend the Lodge in Marie Louise Gardens and build an additional house on part of the original Gardens that are in private ownership. Didsbury West Campaigner Lianne Williams has joined Lib Dem Councillor Mark Clayton, local MP John Leech and local residents in opposing the development.

Lianne Williams said:

"The Labour-dominated Planning Committee should never have granted permission for the over-development of the existing Lodge and to build another house."

Cllr Marc Clayton added:

"Locally the Liberal Democrats will continue to oppose over-development in Didsbury and try to maintain the unique character of our area. For too long the Labour Council has undermined the efforts of the West Didsbury Residents Association and Didsbury Civic Society, but we will continue to be on the side of local people."
