Spineless Manchester Labour Have Abandoned Legal Action Over Cancelled Super Casino

Manchester Lib Dem Leader Cllr Simon Ashley has accused Council Leader Richard Leese of "putting the Labour party before the interests of Manchester" after it was revealed today that the Council would not take legal action against the government for breach of promise when they cancelled Manchester's Super Casino and the 3,000 jobs it would have brought to the City.

Cllr Ashley said today:

"Richard Leese has caved in. He has put the Labour party's interest before Manchester's interests."

Cllr Ashley continued:

"First Labour promise new jobs through a Super Casino, and then broke their word. Now, Labour are promising more new jobs. But Gordon Brown's Labour government hasn't actually delivered a single new job for East Manchester, and Richard Leese has said that is just fine with him. Labour have let down the people of Manchester."
