Afflecks Palace: One of City's few independent retail attractions under threat
Manchester City Centre Lib Dem Cllr Marc Ramsbottom has urged Council bosses to step in to save Affleck's Palace. His call comes as both Affleck's traders and building owners Bruntwood failed to reach agreement last week, amid threats the popular shopping attraction may close within days.
"Affleck's is hugely popular, and a real asset to the quirky Northern Quarter and should be saved", said Cllr Ramsbottom. "I have asked the City Bosses to intervene and try to broker a deal between the parties to keep Affleck's open".
Councillor Ramsbottom has written to City Management Company boss Gordon Reid and Deputy Chief Executive of the Council Eamonn Boylan.
Marc Ramsbottom has also added his name to the online petition together with 7,000 others who are pledged to campaign to keep Afflecks's open.
