This morning, Friday 28th September, Withington MP John Leech joined Manchester Council staff and residents to raise money for cancer sufferers across the City. John attended the Macmillan Cancer Support's "World's Biggest Coffee Morning" in Manchester Town Hall as part of Macmillan's Annual Fundraiser. It was one of hundreds of similar events happening across the country.
John Leech MP said:
"Cancer is a modern day epidemic. Currently, 740 people per day are diagnosed with cancer, and almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by the disease."
"Macmillan Cancer Support is there for people from the moment they are diagnosed, with practical help and support. Last year over £6.8 million was raised in the UK. I hope that we can do even better this year and help Macmillan help more people affected by cancer."
