John Leech, Liberal Democrat MP for Manchester Withington, is calling on the Government to launch an inquiry into the prices consumers are charged by utility companies.
John Leech MP said:
"Gas, water, electricity and telephone bills often make up a large part of individual and family budgets, and the prices charges can seem sky-high. However, the charging structures are very complex, making it difficult to compare companies to see who is giving the best deal. That is why I have signed a parliamentary motion which calls for an inquiry into the prices charged and also for it to be made easier to transfer between utility providers."
