Gorton South Councillor Simon Ashley has welcomed GMPTE's decision to put on hold proposals to change the 188 bus route.
Cllr Ashley asked them to reconsider plans to stop the 188 going onto the Ryder Brow estate after a 300-name petition opposing the change was submitted to Transport Leaders.
Cllr Ashley said today:
"This goes to show that petitions and lobbying can work. I am glad that the GMPTE has taken seriously my concerns and those of my constituents. Hopefully they can come back with proposals which are acceptable to those who live on the Ryder Brow and Dean Road estates in my ward."
