RAPE CONVICTION WELCOMED - ASHELY

Cllr Simon Ashley, Leader of the Manchester Liberal Democrats

A teenage youth from Abbey Hey today pleaded guilty to a rape and 6 indecent assaults across the Gorton area. The judge has asked for psychiatric reports. He will be sentenced on June 10th.

Welcoming the convictions, Gorton South Councillor Simon Ashley said today, "The people of Gorton, especially local women, will welcome this news and I want to congratulate the police on securing these convictions."
